烏帽子岳の東側にあり、大友頼康の建立と伝えられる浄水寺の境内にある公園です。
県内でも有数の桜の名所で、季節になると、濃いピンクの花が幾重にも重なり、優雅な花の房が特徴的なボタンザクラ(里桜)が咲き誇ります。開花時期が4月中旬から5月上旬までと長いのが特徴です。
毎年約800本が開花し、烏帽子岳の山肌を鮮やかなピンク色に彩ります。毎年４月頃に「えぼし岳ぼたん桜祭り」が開催されます。
