昔、氏神竈門八幡宮の大祭に、地獄の噴気で御供飯を炊いた習わしがあったところから「かまど地獄」と名づけられました。こちらの泉温は90度です。
かまどや赤鬼のオブジェがそびえ立ち、１丁目から６丁目まで青や乳白色、熱泥等多種多様な湯が、猛烈な噴気と共に湧き出しています。
足湯や肌湯、のど湯などの設備や、唐辛子のかかった赤鬼ソフト、ブラックペッパーを散らした地獄ソフトなどの特徴的なソフトクリームの売店などもあり、『地獄』なのについついくつろいでしまいそうなスポットです。
