「三日月の滝」は、王朝の昔、醍醐天皇の孫である小松女院が身分の違いの恋の結果、この滝に身を沈めたというロマンの滝です。
滝の落差は10mほどと低いため、“ミニナイアガラ”とも呼ばれています。
「三日月の滝公園」では、筑後川水系の一級河川“玖珠川”のほとりに、川がＵ字に蛇行したところの河畔で、キャンプやパークゴルフなどの遊びが楽しめます。
宿泊施設もあり、内湯温泉は宿泊された方のみ利用できます。
