施設名 角牟礼（つのむれ）城跡

玖珠町の北部に位置する国指定史跡。
土塁で囲まれた曲輪や竪堀のある中世山城（源為朝築城と伝えられる）が石垣（穴太積み＝織田信長の安土城と同じ築城技術）を使用した近世の城郭に作り替えられたとされています。
その石垣がそのまま残っている全国でも珍しい貴重な史跡です。
