施設名 塩屋（しおや）の坂

谷町通りを挟み一直線で結ばれた酢屋・塩屋の二つの坂は北台と南台をつなぐ重要な坂です。杵築で一番美しい景観が望める観光名所となっています。「塩屋の坂」は谷町から南台へと続く坂で、古くから谷町の酒屋で身を立て繁盛していた富商・塩屋長右衛門は、この坂の下で塩屋（酒屋）を営んでしたことからこの坂の名はつけられたということです。
