東光寺の五百羅漢像は、15代住職が生活に苦しむ住民を救いたいと幕末から明治にかけて、一人の石工によって500体以上の石像を完成させたものです。
東光寺の羅漢は、美笑醜渋の四面相があり、一体一体の表情が豊かで個性的な羅漢です。五百羅漢の正面にはお堂があり、左側にはお釈迦様のお弟子さんである十六羅漢が安置されています。
また、東大寺の仏足石を模して創られた佛足石は、全国的に数が少なく貴重なものです。
