「日田祇園山鉾会館(ひたぎおんやまぼこかいかん)」は、平成8年に“国重要無形民族文化財指定”となった日田祇園の歴史的伝統文化の保存と祭りの振興をはかるため、“天領日田資料館”の姉妹施設として開業した建造物です。隈町会館の跡地に2階建ての鉄筋コンクリート構造を建設し、1､2階に分けて展示物や資料、保管物が飾られています。
1階に高さ8mの飾り山鉾、両脇に隈や竹田地区の各山鉾と平成山の展示ホール、2階には“日田祇園祭”に関する器具などを展示し、館内の吹き抜けから山鉾を見下ろせる作りになっています。
