龍門の滝は、筑紫溶岩台地が削られてできた落差26m、幅40mの豪快な二段落としの滝です。
鎌倉時代、南宋から来日し、臨済宗を広めた蘭渓道隆が、この地に立ち寄り、河南府の竜門の滝に似ていることから名付けられたと伝えられています。
新緑、紅葉の名所でもあります。
