玖珠川の上流の川沿いにある小さな温泉地、湯坪温泉。
近くには大岳地獄があり、古くから自然の温泉が湧出していた地域で、昭和50年代に地元の農家が民宿を始めたのがはじまりです。現在では20軒近くの民宿が集まる温泉地となっています。民宿が多いことから「湯坪民宿村」とも呼ばれており、新鮮な野菜や山菜料理と共に田園に囲まれたのどかな雰囲気を味わうことができます。
温泉のほかにも、ひな飾りや観月祭など昔ながらのイベントも楽しむことができます。
