「末廣神社」は、1601年に森藩主久留島康親が郷里の伊予国の氏神である三島宮を勧請したことから始まりと言われています。
本殿の覆屋は“鞘堂”と呼ばれ、細部まで趣向を凝らされた大規模で本格的な構造を持った建築物です。
また、同じ敷地に建つ「栖鳳楼（せいほうろう）」は、城を持つことを許されなかった森藩の８代目・久留島通嘉が、天守に見立てて改修したと言われる茶屋であり、県の有形文化財に指定されています。
