住吉御殿は、旧三の丸御殿の玄関・広間部分で、昭和45年（1970）現在の地に移築された、佐伯市唯一の御殿建築として貴重な建物です。五所明神社「御神幸祭」の御旅所にでもあります。
御神幸祭に随行する船頭町の山車飾り「猩々」は、汲めども尽きない酒瓶を持つ妖精ともいわれ、能や狂言で演じられる商売繁盛の縁起物で、平成21年から住吉御殿に常設展示されています。
