施設名 大手門跡

岡城は、文治元年（1185年）緒方三郎惟栄（これよし）が、源義経を迎えるため築城したと伝承させています。古大手門は南東向きでしたが、熊本城に行く藤堂高虎が岡城に立ち寄って「それでは、朝日が当たると戦いで不利になりはしないか」と助言し、その後、初代藩主・秀成公の晩年に改修されました。
