岩戸の景観～二層の火砕流が重なる鉄道ファンの聖地～
大野川の本流と奥岳川が合流する場所に、高さ50m、長さ500mにわたる大絶壁があり「岩戸（いわど）」と呼ばれています。おおいた豊後大野ジオパークの特徴である「柱状節理（ちゅうじょうせつり）」がよくわかります。
JR豊後清川駅とJR三重町駅間に位置し、岩壁に掘られたトンネルが川を渡る鉄橋に接続されていて、まるで列車が飛び出してくるような光景を写真に収めようと、多くの鉄道ファンが訪れます。
